Who we are
The ThriftFind Editorial Team is a small group of writers, researchers, and community members based in Kathmandu who write and review every guide published on the ThriftFind blog. Between us we have spent years buying, selling, sorting, and repairing secondhand goods in Nepal - from Sunday morning trips to Kathmandu's Bhrikuti Mandap second-hand market to weekly hauls at Pokhara's riverside stalls.
We do not publish AI-generated filler, sponsored content disguised as advice, or misleading claims. Every article is drafted by a human who has actually done what they are writing about, and reviewed by a second team member before it goes live.
Editorial standards
- First-hand experience. Guides on inspecting fabric, spotting fakes, negotiating in a market, or arranging a meetup are written by team members who do these things in Nepal every week.
- Primary sources. When we cite a rule, a price range, or a statistic, we link to the primary source: the regulator, the platform's official page, or the original study.
- Named review. Every YMYL topic (safety, payments, verification, legal) is reviewed by a second team member before publish. The published byline reflects the writer of record.
- Disclosure. If a piece mentions a paid partnership, a giveaway, or affiliate links, we say so in the opening paragraph. Currently: none.
- Updates. We update guides when facts change (prices, laws, platform features), not on a publish schedule. The Updated date on each post reflects a real content change.
Corrections
