Listing content: When you create a listing, we collect the photos you upload, item descriptions, pricing, category selections, and any other details you provide about your items.

Communication preferences: We store your notification preferences, contact method choices, and any communication settings you configure in your account.

Device and technical information: We automatically collect standard technical data such as device type, operating system, browser type and version, screen resolution, referring URLs, pages visited, time spent on pages, and approximate location inferred from your IP address. This information helps us ensure security, prevent fraud, and improve the user experience.

How we use information

We use information to provide core features (sign-in, listings, messaging/contact links), to protect users (anti-abuse and moderation), and to improve performance and usability. We do not sell personal information. We may use aggregated analytics to understand what pages are helpful and which features need improvement.

Cookies, analytics, and similar technologies

ThriftFind uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functions such as keeping you signed in, remembering preferences (like theme), and protecting against abuse. We may also use analytics tools to measure traffic and usage patterns. Analytics helps us improve speed, stability, and content quality. Third-party services

ThriftFind relies on a number of third-party services to operate. Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We encourage you to review them:

• Google Analytics — used to measure website traffic, understand usage patterns, and improve site performance. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages visited, session duration, and device type.
• Google AdSense — used to display advertisements on the site. Google AdSense may use cookies and device identifiers to serve personalized or non-personalized ads based on your browsing behavior.
• Cloudinary — used to host and deliver images uploaded by users (such as listing photos and profile images). Cloudinary processes images on its servers to optimize delivery.
• NextAuth / Authentication providers — used to handle user sign-in. Depending on your chosen sign-in method (e.g., Google, GitHub, or email), the relevant authentication provider may receive limited information necessary to verify your identity.

International users

ThriftFind is operated from Nepal. If you access the service from outside Nepal, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in Nepal. By using ThriftFind, you consent to the transfer of your information to Nepal and acknowledge that data protection laws in Nepal may differ from those in your country of residence.

Cookie types we use

Data we do NOT collect

To be transparent about the limits of our data collection, ThriftFind does not collect the following types of information:

• Financial information — ThriftFind does not process payments. All transactions and payments are arranged directly between buyers and sellers. We never collect credit card numbers, bank account details, or other financial data.
• Government-issued IDs — we do not require or collect copies of government identification documents such as passports, driver's licenses, or national ID cards.
• Health information — we do not collect any health-related or medical information.
• Precise location data — we do not track your precise GPS location. Any location information we process is approximate and based on IP address or user-provided location labels.
