New Items
Not everything on ThriftFind is secondhand. Our new items category features brand-new, unused products that sellers are offering below retail price. These may include unwanted gifts, bulk purchases, items ordered in the wrong size, or products from small businesses clearing stock. It is a way to get new products at secondhand prices.
Verify that the item is genuinely new by checking for intact seals, original packaging, and tags still attached. Ask the seller why they are selling a new item, as this context helps you assess whether the price is fair.
For electronics, ensure the warranty is valid and transferable. Some manufacturer warranties are tied to the original purchaser, while others cover the product regardless of ownership. Ask for the receipt or proof of purchase if warranty matters.
Compare the seller's price with current retail prices online. New items on ThriftFind should offer a meaningful discount over buying from a store, otherwise there is little incentive to buy from an individual seller.
Show the intact packaging, tags, and seals prominently in your photos. If the item was purchased as a gift, mention the original purchase date and where it was bought.
Price competitively against current retail. Buyers will compare, and a new item priced too close to store prices will not attract interest when they could simply buy from a retailer with return policies.
